Ever wonder what it would be like to ride your motorcycle nearly 11,000 miles in 65 days? How about riding your motorcycle nearly 11,000 miles in 65 days through some of the most remote roads in China? Canadian brothers Colin and Ryan Pyle did just that on their “Middle Kingdom Ride” and set a Guinness World Record in the process. And as if doing all of the above wasn’t enough, they shot footage of their incredible adventure and made a documentary film out of it that will air in Summer 2012.
We partnered up with Colin and Ryan to provide G4 PowerSet communication systems for their journey. The G4 systems added the important element of safety to the journey since it allowed the brothers to remain in constant communication with each other. Ryan wrote on the Middle Kingdom’s Facebook page, “It’s amazing how much safer it is to ride when riders are connected and always looking out for each other and communicating with each. Colin and I were able to “watch each others back” on China’s deadly roads. The G4 is tough as nails and even worked well when we rode through 5 straight days of rain. Brilliant product”.
Watch for their documentary to air in Summer 2012; network and dates to be announced. For more information about the Middle Kingdom Ride and to catch up with what Colin and Ryan are up to, visit their website at www.mkride.com or visit their Facebook and Twitter pages.
In the meantime, here’s a little teaser clip of their journey taken from their YouTube channel:
